JANSi UVEX-m

JANSi UVEX™-m UV Imaging Microscope
Manual High Performance UV Imaging for Every Lab

* Detect Protein Crystals  * Cool LED Illumination
*
Affordable  * Compact  * Easy-to-Use

The JANSi UVEX™-m UV Fluorescence Microscope for protein crystallography captures both UV fluorescence and visible wavelength images from crystallization drops enabling you to locate crystals even in opaque drops, LCP or under heavy precipitate that could otherwise be missed using traditional imaging techniques.  All JANSi UVEX systems come standard with the same high precision, UV optimized, Quartz glass objectives.  The JANSi UVEX-m features a 6.1 megapixel CCD providing optical resolution of less than 1 micron, and affording you the ability to detect very small crystals a few microns in size.  This not only saves valuable time in the process, but also has the potential to save money in setting up new experiments.

The JANSi UVEX-m also allows you to discriminate between protein crystals and other objects such as salt crystals.  Even in co-crystallization trials in which fluorescence may be quenched, a distinct intensity profile in the fluorescence image may differentiate between the crystals of the complex and the non-protein crystals.  By comparing the visible image and the UV fluorescence image, you can immediately detect and identify protein crystals, even a few microns in size.

The JANSi UVEX-m is a manual observation station featuring the UV and Visible Wavelength LED Illumination Light Base, the optical train and the CCD System all mated to a computer for capturing images of wells of interest.

JANSi UVEX-m Overview

*  LED Illumination for Brightfield Imaging and UV Excitation with no measurable crystal damage

*  Cool LED Illumination brings no heat to your experiment, is energy efficient and has a long bulb life

*  Optical resolution of better than 1µm allows you to detect tiny crystals in heavy precipitate, opaque drops or LCP

*  Immediate confirmation of protein vs. salt crystals

*  6.1 megapixel, dual-stage-cooled, CCD camera with low noise and high spatial resolution for Visible and UV Wavelength Imaging

*  True Microscope System standard with 5x and 15x UV Optimized Quartz Objectives for superior imaging quality

*  UVEX-m optical train allows for both UV and visible wavelength imaging without the need to refocus between images

*  Compatible with Hanging Drop, Sitting Drop, Microbatch and LCP Plates and Chips

*  Easy-to-Use with simple and intuitive software
